What's the Point?

It's hard to get motivated to do anything without knowing the purpose behind what you're doing. Christopher, one of our very fantastic interns, shared his heart and from God's Word on what the point of reading the Bible actually is. We looked at the very classic 2 Timothy 3:16-17 to answer this question of what's the point? Let's check out what Scripture says...

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Chris shared that God's Word is inspired and that all the words in there are written to us by God. It is essentially a personal letter, written by God to us. That's awesome! It is used for teaching others God's truths, holding each other accountable against sinful actions and improper theology, and to build up our own righteousness. All these things so that we can be thoroughly equipped for every good work. We must be equipped! Without God's Word, how could be be ready to answer the tough questions, hold each other accountable on rights and wrongs, build on our own righteousness. If we consider ourselves to be Christians (servants of God), we must be ready and equipped to do good work for Him, and we'd be lost without God's Word.
